"Hide amounts" is Stokk's privacy feature: when it is on, your friends do not see any absolute euro amounts from you. It is on by default.

## What friends do not see

- The **amount you invested** in euros
- **Position sizes** (quantity and value of a position)

In the app, hidden amounts appear as "•••".

## What friends still see

- Which **positions** you hold (the symbol)
- The **make-up of your portfolio** in percent
- Your **return in percent**
- The **shape of your value chart**, without euro values

That way you can keep comparing without giving away amounts ([Compare your portfolio with friends](/en/wiki/compare-portfolio-with-friends)).

## Protected on the server

The protection is not only applied in the app. The real amounts are replaced before they leave our database. Your portfolio history is also delivered in a way that does not let anyone read off euro values.

## Hidden from you too

While the feature is on, Stokk also shows your own amounts as "•••", in your feed and profile. To show amounts again, you confirm it on purpose by typing a confirmation text.

## Amounts in posts

Posts that show a position or a savings plan carry no amount while the feature is on. Notifications to friends about your investments never contain an amount.
